Communications Lead – Kelowna, Canada Learning Code
As the OYP Collective’s Community Cultivator, Tory’s role is to foster a culture for young professionals in the region. The Community Cultivator keeps up to date on various groups and happenings for young professionals, identifies opportunities to bring people together, share ideas and provide connections to social, volunteer and career opportunities in the region.
Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, Tory fell in love with the Okanagan on her first visit in 1997 and has permanently called it home since 2012. She has been an avid fan of the OYP Collective since her relocation to Kelowna, and has been a Member of Influence since January 2018.
Tory studied arts at Okanagan College before transferring to Simon Fraser University, where she graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Science and certificate in Cultural Resource Management. She has an extensive background in marketing and communications in the public and private sector, including working with the Okanagan College Foundation and the Kelowna Yacht Club.
Tory spends her free time volunteering her expertise on committees for Motionball Kelowna, Lake Country ArtWalk and the Kelowna Art Gallery, or can be found coding robots, throwing tea parties and attempting to be a recreational sports superstar.
